- My son and daughter take turns unloading the dishwasher, every morning. It was my son's day. When he went to get spoons for dinner, he noticed how many were already dirty. "I just put these away this morning!" Uh-huh. I hear ya, buddy.
- I've been so busy trying to teach my daughter to be tougher, to get over her hurts and not cry about it, that I've forgotten how important it is to teach her that it is ok to hurt, to cry, but then let it go.
- It's taken me three and a half kids to realize what it means to me to be a good mom and how to do it.
- The wind in Wyoming does have a purpose - it helps get the leaves off what few trees we do have so the branches don't break under the first, usually wet, heavy snow. It's also a sign a change in the weather is coming.
- There isn't much of a difference in raising kids and husbands; they both need to hear good things about themselves in order to be successful.
- Meal plans and crock pots are the keys to happiness.
- "I don't feel good. I think I ate too much candy." Still waiting for my daughter to "get" that one.
- Two year olds are the best exercise plans a woman can have. :)

Splitting hairs
Ever since Andur was a wee bairn, he has hated haircuts with a capital H. Still does.
After some slight disagreement, this evening, we finally abated the tears and got to work.
We started talking about how we dress modestly now to prepare for certain things in our future. So, naturally, we should start wearing our hair now how we would on a mission. I explained how, on a mission, a young man is expected to wear his hair a certain way to show respect to himself and to the Lord. I also said this also means having no facial hair.
"You mean I can't have a beard or a mustache? But the Pringles guy has one, so does Mr. Monopoly. And they're pretty famous."
Huh. Can't argue with that.

Sick Day
Ah, a day in the life of the sick one.
All you can eat candy canes.
Commando attire.
One movie after another.
And mom all to himself.
It's been a nice day with just my smallest boy.
I could get used to this.*
*Without the puking and incessant laundry-doing.
Good news: He was able to go two hours without throwing up. (After we learned the hard way that water, milk, bread, orange popsicle and more water were NOT going to sit well.)
Candy canes. Who knew?
Now he's been able to eat chips (two bags), some Squirt (so healthy, but hey - it's liquid) and a root beer sucker.
The fact that he was able to jump on the couch was a sign I could try getting him dressed, again.
It's all good.

How we told our kids...
We're not about out-right sharing news in our house. We like to shake things up a bit. ;)
We're having a boy!
He's healthy and growing as he should, as far as we can tell from the ultra sound.
My urine shows good blood sugar and protein levels, and my blood pressure is right on par. And I've only gained 6 lbs.!
For a name, we're going with Owen Jacob. That's what we'll stick with, unless, for some reason, we feel the need to change it. I'm still due January 31 and am hoping for a January 23 c-section. :)

You know it's time to potty train when...
...your two year old walks out the front door of your in-laws' house buck-neked claiming he wants to go potty.
Silly boy.
Silly boy.

Acrophobia
Andur conquered a fear this week. Well, I don't know if he conquered it, but he sure stared it straight in the eye and showed it what he was made of.

Who needs vaccinations?
I sent my two year old and the child I babysit out to the backyard to play... within minutes, I hear them spewing and sputtering.
This can only mean one thing:
Water.
But not just any water.
Water that's been sitting on top of a plastic container for two days.
Outside.
They're sticking their tiny faces in it and drinking it. Occasionally, they spit it out.
*sigh*
And I'm having another one....
