Naughty-pants

Quin is a punk.  Trouble is his middle name.  He likes to climb up in the window sill, on the table, and now here:

He's not sorry.  (Notice his rosy red teething cheekies.)

Last night, right before bedtime, he came crawling downstairs with money in his hand.  Then when I was getting his jammies on, I noticed his shirt was wet.  His diaper wasn't the culprit, so I was baffled.  Until I went to bed, myself.  My whole side of the bed was soaked.  My side of the floor was soaked.  And some of the money that was on my night table was missing.

TEN

Yesterday, my husband and I celebrated our 10 years of successful marriage.  Successful because we've survived so many things together and are stronger (or something) because of it.  (I think we both know no one else would tolerate us so we just stick together - LOL)

Ten things we've survived in the past ten years:

2000 - August 25th got married.
2001 - First pregnancy/child.  Diabetes added to that fun.  Lived with in-laws.  (We all survived that!)
2002 - Matt got his degree!
2003 - Second child born in different state while traveling.  Almost died.  Good times.
2004 - Loved the state where child two was born so much we decided to move there.  Aaah, I miss Washington!
2005 - Didn't happen this year, but survived four lay-offs, leading us to this move to a different state.
2006 - Move to the land of opportunity.  That's pretty much all Wyoming has to offer.  First child starts pre-K.
2007 - Lost job, lost possible house.  Get new, better job, get better house.  Child one starts kindergarten, child two starts pre-K, misscarriage of unexpected/non-tried-for pregnancy.
2008 - Find out we're pregnant.  Again.  Didn't even have to try.  Again.
2009 - Added child number three to the fam.  He cried for 4 months straight.  Bought best house ever.

2010 - Still have a job, still have a house, both kids are successful in school, third is a punk but cute.

And we're going to live happily ever after.  ;)

Holy Peter Parker, Batman!

Watch where yer grabbin!

Just a garden spider, but still.... bleh!!!

He was living amongst my abundantly growing tomatoes... I had to wipe out two other webs that were currently unoccupied!
This guy's leg-span was as big as a 50 cent piece! Too big for my taste! (Heck, I don't like the small ones!)

The Adventures of Wolf Boy, Box Girl and the Ranch Licker

Andur earned his Wolf in Cub Scouts! (And his Bobcat.) He had his beads in his pocket and his scarf was at home, so he's not in full uniform.  I was his Den Mother and awarded him his badges, hence the lack of pictures of him actually receiving the awards.  Plus, that was the day I had an IV and half my face was swollen from infection.  Good times.

This was how he looked when he received his awards, though:

Nice.  Just call him Muchacho.

Oh, boy.

ANYwho...

Remember the washer I had to replace? Well, the new one came in a box, which of course is better than any toy Walmart can sell:

My kids took turns rolling down the sidewalk, then did it together and ended up in the street by my neighbor's truck:

I caught a video of them rolling down the driveway in it, but my camera does videos too well for blogger to handle.

Then, they decided to sail a coupla ships in my side yard:

I love a creative mind at work.

Quin was happy to push a chair around the driveway:

Which brings me to Ranch Boy.

Quin loves "dip" (i.e. ketchup or ranch):

He'll dip anything.  This is the remains of his sandwich:

He proceeded to pick up the plate and lick it, but he was too quick for me to catch on film.  Oh, well.

The end.  ;)

Another funny joke

Two women were sitting quietly together, minding their own business.

Funniest Joke of the Year!!

George Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell.

While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth.

Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so Putin writes him a check.

Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so she writes him a check.

Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00.

When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Bush got to call the USA so cheaply.

The devil smiles and replies: "Since Obama took over, the country has gone to hell, so it's a local call."

Blog-worthy

What a weekend.

I've been in the ER twice, due to a stupid abscessed tooth, have my second IV for antibiotics (the first one leaked), and now will be going to the dentist today instead of on the 27th like they originally said was the soonest I could get in.  If they could've gotten me in LAST WEEK when the pain started, this could've all been avoided.  Lame.

Quin's FINALLY starting to WALK!!!!!!! I even got it on video yesterday.  He still mostly crawls, but walks between things and can stand up in the middle of the room and take some steps.  I guess yesterday he walked from the kitchen to the living room... Matt saw it, not me.  :(  Oh, well.  Silly boy.

Also, Quin got his first molar in!! His second one is either in or almost in - I can't tell because by the time I get my finger in there, he tries to bite me with his other teeth.  So, we're up to 9 teeth! Woohoo!

I found the perfect babysitting job! I wanted a teacher at my kids' school, and a boy Quin's age.  That's EXACTLY what I got!! Then I have to go and cancel on her today because of my IV and dentist appt.  *sigh* I hope she doesn't hold it against me.  This really is the perfect thing ever.

I was picked by a magazine to do one of their diets and be a spotlight on weight loss! Then I go and get a dumb tooth problem and can't do it fully, but they're being totally cool and letting me do what I can and will also consider me for another trial.  :) I can't give details yet until the article is published, but it's been working, so I'm excited.

My kids were asked by TWO of our neighbors to help them out this week while they're out of town.  One has a dog we have to let out, one has frogs we're babysitting and a garden to water.  AND they'll get paid to do it! They're way excited!

SO, that's my life in a nutshell right now.  Good times.  :)

You'd think I had a dog...

Nope, just a baby.  A cute one.  One that's growing up WAY to fast.

How many bath towels would it take...

My washing machine died.  Like, really died.  It went out with a bang - literally.

We were eating lunch last Saturday (I think) and it was running.  It hit the spin cycle and started jerking around rather psychotic-like, the lid and top of it bouncing up way too much for my liking, and, needless to say, making a very loud banging noise.  Sometime during this wash cycle, it leaked 12 towels and one bath rug worth of water all over my floor.  None of it went down the drain... it all flowed into my bathroom and towards the carpeted area of my family room.  There was SO MUCH WATER.  (Seriously about an inch!)

Anywho, we bought a new washer mmm, Monday? And we picked it up yesterday.  Nothing fancy, I prefer simple - just wash my clothes, that's all I ask! I immediately put a load of (ha) TOWELS in it and tested it out.  It started making a quiet whirring noise and I was so worried... I read the manual to see if we installed it right, set it right, whatever... We did.  It's just that good.  ;) I had to convince myself this morning of that fact, by placing a strong magnet where the lid goes down so I could see it working.  EnergyStar rocks! AND Wyoming is going to pay us for buying one.  AND it's just awesome.  And quiet! My other washer was quite loud - to say the least - as I'm sure I caused it some wear and tear moving it from one state to another and shoving waaaay to much clothes in at one time when I first got it.

I just LOVE IT.  I'm sad I had to buy a new one after only six years of use, but not that sad.  ;)

His throne

His new favorite place to sit:

Apparently eight is not enough

Teeth, that is.  He's getting at least his bottom molars... he won't hold still long enough for me to see otherwise.
